Best Paper Award at the Indian Conference on Computer Vision Graphics & Image Processing

December 20, 2014

Dr. Dinesh Pai and alumni Martin Lesmana, Axel Landgren, and Per-Erik Forssén were the recipients of the Best Paper Award at the 2014 Indian Conference on Computer Vision Graphics and Imaging Processing (ICVGIP’14).

Vision systems in robots have to function in an ever-changing environment. However, camera motion blur, object motion blur, and disappearance of objects from the field of view are problems that can occur. In animals and other biological systems, active gaze stabilizations help counteract these unwanted motions. The award-winning paper, titled “Active Gaze Stabilization” describes a system for active stabilization of cameras on highly dynamic robots.
